I’m Natalie, the face (and hands!) behind Luna Moon Scents. Ever wonder how I came up with the name? Well, let me tell you—it’s a story full of twists, turns, and…a very determined little French Bulldog. Buckle up; this one’s got everything from heartwarming moments to a little bit of sass (thanks to Luna herself).
Big Dogs, Big Energy, Big…Surprises
Let me start by saying this: I’ve always been a big dog kind of person. You know, the type of dog that practically drags you down the street for “their” walk. Little dogs? Cute for sure, but not my vibe. So when my friend’s French Bulldog had a litter of puppies, I thought, “How adorable! But no thanks.”
Cue The Puppy That Wouldn’t Leave Me Alone.
Every time I visited, this one tiny, wriggly, determined puppy made it her mission to stick to me like glue. She had this look in her eye, like, “You’re my human, you just don’t know it yet.” My friend, naturally, saw an opportunity. “You should keep her!” she said. I laughed it off, listing excuse after excuse.
But fate had other plans.
Puppy Sitting…or a Setup?
One day, my friend asked me to puppy-sit. Sure, why not? Two pups for a weekend wouldn’t kill me. Among the duo was her: The Determined One. She made herself right at home, hopping onto my couch, claiming my bed, and basically deciding my house was now hers. It was like she was saying, “This is it, lady. I’m not leaving.”
And honestly? She was right.
I named her Luna. It felt like destiny—or maybe just her stubborn persistence. Either way, she became my shadow, my little sass machine, and, without a doubt, my greatest emotional support.
Luna Moon, the Emotional MVP
Around this time, life threw some tough challenges my way. My dad had been diagnosed with lung cancer, and grief often felt like a constant companion. But Luna was always there—whether it was lying on me while I cried, making me laugh with her sassiness, or just reminding me I wasn’t alone.
Luna didn’t just show up in my life; she chose me. And honestly? I needed her as much as she needed me.
The Birth of Luna Moon Scents
Fast forward to the day I decided to follow my passion and create a candle business. I wanted the name to feel personal, meaningful, and full of heart. The answer was right in front of me—well, technically, staring at me from her dog bed.
Luna Moon.
Yes, I know it means “Moon Moon” (don’t worry, I’m aware of the irony). But it was perfect. The name embodied someone who had brought me comfort, strength, and joy when I needed it most. If Luna could help me through life’s ups and downs, maybe her name could help others too—through beautiful scents that make you feel at home, safe, and happy.
